How to use the online image crop tool

1. Enter the requirements: choose Photo or Signature mode, then copy the width, height, format and KB limits from your application form.
2. Upload and crop: choose an image from your device. Drag to position it, zoom to frame it, and rotate if needed. On a phone, pinch to zoom.
3. Generate and check: inspect the actual exported image and the separate dimension, format and file-size results.

Photo dimensions and file size are different

Dimensions describe width and height, such as 200 × 230 pixels. File size describes storage, such as a maximum of 50 KB. Cropping changes the image area; resizing sets the output dimensions; JPEG compression can reduce the file size. This tool uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes.

For measurements in mm, cm or inches, DPI converts physical dimensions into pixels. For example, 35 × 45 mm at 300 DPI becomes 413 × 531 pixels after rounding. These are examples, not universal passport-photo requirements. The selected DPI is used for calculation and is not embedded as print-resolution metadata.

Can I crop a photo on my mobile phone?

Yes. Select a photo from your phone, drag it inside the crop frame, and pinch or use the zoom buttons to adjust it. The layout also works on tablets and computers.

Can I make a photo smaller than 20 KB or 50 KB?

Enter your maximum KB limit and choose JPEG if your application allows it. The tool searches for a suitable compression level while keeping your requested pixel dimensions. Some images cannot fit a very small limit without losing clarity, so check the preview and the actual size result.

Can I resize a signature without stretching it?

Yes. Signature mode keeps the image proportions while you crop to the required shape. You can trim empty margins, add padding, and adjust brightness or contrast. Review the result to make sure every stroke is visible.

Should I download JPEG or PNG?

Use the format your form requests. JPEG usually makes smaller photo files and places white behind transparent areas. PNG preserves transparency and uses lossless encoding, but it may exceed a small KB limit.

Are my photos uploaded or stored?

This tool processes images locally in your browser. Its image editor does not upload your files to a server or store them remotely.

Does a passing result guarantee application acceptance?

No. The checks cover dimensions, format and file size. Your application may also require a particular background, face position, lighting, signature style or other visual criteria.
